Very impressive that they still rung it the traditional way despite the bell weighing the same as an elephant!!!
Imagine how hard work it is to ring a bell weighing the same as an elephant
How many kg is great tom?
Roughly 6,320kg.

full on major melt. Would have taken it outside and listened to the radio broadcast if the kid was mine.
Thanks for the clickbait title.
Sounds like wedding bells
Hello
why is the tenor normally left open at backstroke? is it only to be fully fully muffled on the death of the monarch?
I think it is so it sounds like its tolling slowly, but I'm not sure, the muffle might of fallen off, but I'm not sure if they left it open on purpose or not🤷♂️
B
I was in London when I was 13
The tenor definitely still need some work done
the bells are cast by richard keene

Absolutely loved the change ringing. Drove me to tears. Such heavenly music!

The striking is horrendous - why have they let you loose on these glorious bells??
@@RingerThomas - you're obviously not listening properly Thomas ! If you can't hear properly how can you hope to strike properly. Perhaps time to think about doing something else!!
Perhaps there were learners in the band ringing. What a terrible comment…
@@AshleyMonck69 There are definitely 'learners' involved. These are serious bells for serious ringing. There are plenty of towers out there for the learners. I visited Worcester Cathedral tower once where they allowed inexperienced ringers onto the bells prior to a Sunday morning service. Not the time to do that and it ruined things for me. Yes I know people have to learn but it has to be in appropriate places, not high profile ones!!
@@Cantorisalto1 what exactly classes as ‘high profile’? It was clearly an outing so you’ve got to accommodate the learners that come along. Ringing is a team effort and about supporting each other, not ‘you’re not good enough to ring these bells’
@@AshleyMonck69 do outings with learners in other towers. This is Magdalen tower Oxford. Not the place for crash bang wallop!!!
This is a good time to listen to the bells at 10 am and have a prayer for those you love you cannot be with and to have one for the ones you are with you love that isolated yourself out of love for others.
Great, encourage everyone around you to initiate a ringing action that can help drive away the virus's corona. Don't wait but hurry! Good luck!
